A town in Achaia Phthiotis, which usually provided one of the regions' two representatives to the Delphic Amphiktyony. It became part of the Aetolian League around 260 BC and part of the Thessalian League in 189 BC. It remained inhabited through the Roman Imperial period and into Byzantine times. The modern town of Avaritsa is nearby.
