The Ancient Theatre of Argos, one of the largest in the ancient Greek world, is carved into the hillside of Larissa hill overlooking the city. Its impressive cavea, capable of accommodating thousands of spectators, bears witness to the cultural and civic life of Argos, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Greece. Though partially ruined, the theatre remains a striking testament to the enduring theatrical tradition of the Argolid region.
