The oldest known shipwreck in the world. Discovered in 1975 by American archaeologist Peter Throckmorton in Skindos Bay, on the island of Dokos, in the Argo-Saronic Gulf. Dated to the Early Bronze Age (2700-2200 BC) and lying at a depth of 15-30m. The cargo included hundreds of pithoi and other vessels, evidence of Aegean maritime trade this early.
