The Sanctuary of Artemis Mounychia crowns the rocky peninsula of Mikrolimano in Piraeus, one of ancient Athens' most significant harbors. This sacred site honored Artemis, the goddess of hunting and protection, and played an important role in the religious life of the maritime community. Though sparse ruins remain today, the temple's elevated position offers commanding views over the historic harbor where Athenian naval power once flourished.
