On the seabed at Cape Glaros, at the entrance to the Pagasetic Gulf — from where, according to tradition, the Achaean fleet set sail for Ilion — remains of at least 4 ancient shipwrecks have been identified (1 Hellenistic, 1 Roman, 2 Byzantine), along with pottery and anchors from scattered periods, at depths of 15-27 metres. A visitable underwater archaeological site (ΕΕΑΧ) of the western Pagasetic Gulf.
