In Vathylakkas bay, at Thymaina (part of the Fournoi Korseon island group, Northern Aegean), 3 ancient shipwrecks have been identified and documented, with the broader area scattered with ceramic remains, ancient and medieval anchors, and isolated finds — evidence of the area's significance for seafaring from the Hellenistic to the Roman period. One of two new visitable underwater archaeological sites established in March 2026.
