The tower of Palaia Monemvasia is located on the first promontory north of the Kastropoliteia of Monemvasia, next to the settlement of Palaia Monemvasia. The tower exhibits characteristics of Venetian rule, which is why it is believed to have been built during the Second Venetian Period (1690-1715) or even earlier, as there are suspicions that the tower may be Late Byzantine. Its function was to protect the Kastropoliteia of Monemvasia.
